Background

Throughout out the developed world, particularly in Europe, pigs, calf and dairy livestock are raised in confined sites. Each pig exerts about 8 liters of liquid slurry (mixed with flush water) per day.

In Europe alone, there are more than 120 M pigs. This means 1.5 millions tons per day of liquid manure!! As a result of extensive urbanization and industrialization process, the disposal of the manure became a major ecological and political issue.

The most popular way for manure disposal is still, land application. Recently, very stringent laws were adapted by the EC (directives), to reduce permitted amounts of nutrients applied on lands and those values decrease gradually every year.

As a result, farmers are forced to abandon their businesses or to decrease numbers of Animals (due to shortage of free lands) along with higher disposal costs.

Solution

Manure Treatment by a smart chemical/physical system, which reduces the regulated pollution matters, as N and P by over 90%, enabling more manure to be applied on lands, or direct discharge into exiting sewage network, following liquid phase purification.

The system enables medium / large farm size of 1000 – 10000 animals, to become self sustained regarding the manure disposal issue.

The System

Two or three stages, Modular system, installed on flat surface or in containers, which treat the manure from "pit to land" or "pit to sewage". (The system can be made transportable).

Stage 1

Over 98% solids removal by a;pw chemical consumption GreenFloat System.

Stage 2

Chemical/thermal treatment of the liquid phase to further reduce the Nitrogen by more than 90%.
The removed nitrogen is recovered as sellable liquid N fertilizer.
The system is sold, or leased, in two or three modules, according customers specific discharge permit.
The process is continuous and automatically controlled by the on board computer. Option: intensive biological polishing to remove excess nutrients.
